The Euro

Warning : Stamps in francs remain valid once the euro is in place.

Exchange rates :
Since the 1st January 1999, the price in euros is calculated by dividing the price in francs by 6.55957, this is a fixed rate of exchange. The result is rounded up or down two numbers after the comma. If the third number following the comma is 5 or over it will be rounded up (e.g. For a 3 FRF stamp the exchange is 0.45734 € rounded up to 0.46 €). If the third number is less than five, it will be rounded down (e.g. For a 2,70 FRF stamp the exchange is 0,41161 € rounded down to 0,41 €).
